Aging Without Wrinkles?

With all the talk of Botox, surgical procedures, and other cosmetic fixes for the aging process, you are surely overwhelmed with the options available to combat aging. The first noteworthy commentary should be on why aging is such a dreary outlook. With age, according to most of those who have passed the “young adult” phase, comes wisdom and self acceptance. This acceptance has been described to be nothing akin to anything someone in their twenties or thirties would ever be able to fully embrace. But here we are, in an age where flawless skin and eyebrows that don’t move are considered desirable, in which countless remedies are available to address the fears involved in getting older in front of our friends, family, and society.

Skin creams have been developed for decades that mix minerals and chemicals in order to raise the skin, smooth our wrinkles, and restore the cells that showcase our aging process. In combination with our own sleep, physical behaviors, and unique make-up, these creams can wipe away years from our faces and necks. With daily use, skin creams that claim to either reverse or fight the aging process are equipped to even out the color in our faces as well as provide the skin with antioxidants and restorative agents like collagen and resveratrol for daily exfoliation.

It makes sense that our skin, like the rest of our bodies, need the right vitamins and minerals to maintain health and glow. So when choosing the appropriate cream for your aging issues, it’s important to consider your unique skin type. Protecting your skin from the sun is another critical move to maintain skin health and will surely aid in maintaining a younger, fresher look as the years pass by. No matter what method you choose to make your skin smoother, lighter, and younger looking, it’s important to remember that aging without wrinkles is not natural, and with all the makeup and cream you have used over the years, isn’t natural what you wanted to project?

Any denizen of the theater knows all about the importance of make-up. Yes, formerly thought solely the domain of those wishing to prettify themselves, it turns out make-up serves another purpose, for dramatic effect no less. Theater strives to create a certain kind of atmosphere that aims for exaggeration of metaphor, character type and even features – this extends even to a kind of lighting that tends to wash out faces and make the actors’ expressions unreadable. That’s no good for something that demands as much physical performance and expression as line-delivery.

Make-up solves that problem, adding color and definition – even exaggeration – to the features that would be washed out otherwise. With make-up, the audience can see every eyebrow raised and every facial twitch that are so critical for conveying real acting. But what’s the actor to do when the show’s over and there’s a face full of make-up to deal with? Use cold cream, of course. That friend of all those striving for skin care and clean skin is the perfect tool for make-up removal, making it the actor’s best buddy.

You could spend hours trying to wash the make-up off – it doesn’t work very well – but why bother? Just slather on some cold cream, then rub your face with paper towels, and like magic the make-up comes right off. Another coat or two and then a regular wash with soap and water and you’re good to go, with your face feeling fresh and clean to boot! One thing to note. It is called “cold cream” for a reason. The stuff is cold. Be prepared for the shock, but then again, it’s better than the stinky stuff you use on your chest to relieve your sinuses, and at least cold cream doesn’t smell bad. Rejoice! No longer does the wearing of make-up for theatrical purposes pose a problem afterward.
