From the clothes you put on to the way you wear your hair, your womanhood is displayed. Because it’s customary to showcase yourself via outward appearances first, before others are able to access your true spirit and personality, some of us get wrapped up in perfect makeup and bodies. But herein lies the problem when coming to know ourselves and embracing our female goddess that rests within.
This goddess is not a mystical creature, awaiting a resurrection or meant to take away from the beauty we both see in ourselves and share with those around us. Rather, it is the true essence of being female and celebrating that spirit as a gift. The goddess in each of us is embedded in where we’ve been, where we are, and where we shall go. It’s important not to relish in the past, but to learn from it and recognize it’s place in our current static existence.
As we collect new tools with each new experience, we would be administering a disservice to ourselves if we did not embrace the lessons learned, mistakes made, and achievements accrued. This goddess is equipped with the aforementioned tools, thereby becoming a sum of your parts. These parts have been molded in the past and continue to take form in the present, and will do so further in the future. Clearly distinctive from the person others may see, the goddess in you that yearns to be unleashed is the voice of reason, the guide in trying times, and the fool that continues to believe in more than the world wants us to.
The goddess in each of us reminds us that we are more than we can embrace at any one time and yet is available to help us tap into the dynamic and complex beings that we are. We are not our mistakes, our incomes, or our successes but rather the reactive lessons we process thereafter each of these episodic tales. We are, instead, the holistic experience of every word, breath, song, scent, and wise testaments as we navigate through this rough but beautiful life.
